Duck Pond Bridge
This painting is inspired by a piece of the Bronx river within a loop enclosed by two bridges in which I used to run cross country drills during high school. This particular bridge was the final stretch of each set that we would run. With the bench at the end, the gushing tower of loud water beneath that straightaway, it is a scene that literally and figuratively represents the calm after the storm that can be experienced in persevering, and not giving up when you are almost there.
