Have you ever been out at the beach at night and seen a moonrise? There is a special moment on a partly cloudy night when the moon breaks through the clouds and emerges on the scene. Cast shadows become visible and soft color vibrations fills the atmosphere. I used oil paint with layering and texture to capture the way this special light affects and air, clouds, and waves.
