This piece was inspired from visiting a local boatyard and seeing the sale boats there being prepared for the coming season. I loved seeing all of the equipment strewn around the base of the boats. Beyond the boats themselves was the afternoon light casting shadows onto the beautifully curved forms. I knew I wanted to capture the contrast between busyness of the boatyard activity and the bold light carving out the simple shapes of light and shadow.
