Hiker's Paradise

I was at this spot a few years ago during a weekend hike and camping trip here in the central Oregon mountains. I remember this was a spectacular view that I knew would eventually turn into a painting. We took a break there, and I was able to sketch and carefully observe the view. I attempted a painting from my references soon after that hike, but I hadn't found an ideal composition. I knew there was a better design lurking in there somewhere. After going through my photo references recently, this view caught my eye again. I finally zoomed in further and worked the composition for this view.
