Sunlit Pine

The Ponderosa Pine trees around the dry interior grasslands of British Columbia are growing back. Many died some years ago from pine beetles. There are still a few old giants that survived, and a few young ones such as this which are now maturing. They provide much appreciated shade along the trails through the hills.
