At the Meeting Place

I went to Europe on a bus tour. My girlfriends and I sat eating lunch in an outdoor dining in Venice Italy. I looked over and saw this man sitting in the sun. I snapped his photo, thinking he was a homeless man. As I painted him, I realized he was not homeless. There is one clue... he has a crease in his shirt sleeve. The background I started with Acrylic paint to get the texture. Then switched to Oil paint on top of the Acrylic. I love the way the light and shadow plays on his clothes and face.
