This is one of a four part series of Asian American Woman in Renaissance clothing. During the pandemic, Yura felt a deep sense of injustice towards the Asian American community. This inspired a series of evocative portraits featuring Asian American women depicted in Renaissance clothing. Through these works, Yura aims to bridge historical art styles with contemporary social issues, highlighting the strength and resilience of the Asian American community. This particular portrait is of a friend named January who's resilience surpassed many of the people she's known. Yura wanted to honor her with this portrait calling her a modern Renaissance woman.
