Impending Night

Impending Night, Clouds & Sky
Impending Night
During the summer months, I always make time to embark on a long walk at some point during the day. Most of the time, I begin my reflective journey right before sunset and before you know it the sky begins its mysterious transformation. In the case of this particular sky, the weather was rainy earlier on only to slowly dissipate shortly prior to the beginning of my walk. Thus, I eagerly anticipated these kind of conditions due to the fact that they seem to produce the most beautiful sunsets. As expected, the clouds, rain, and dullness gave way to an increasingly intense sunset that seemed to never reach a definite zenith in its luminosity. The painting you see before you is my best interpretation of the apex this sunset displayed before me. As usual, I embellish very little so that the painting documents the beauty of a Midwestern sunset as accurately as possible.
