Thankful I had my camera in hand while walking along the harbor on Balboa Island. Capturing "Daydream" cruising out to sea with our American flag proudly displayed was a scene worthy of painting. I chose to make the American flag the main focal point with the sailboat second. A few other edits I made were simplifying the background and adding some clouds to add depth and interest in the sky. A studio oil on panel painting created mostly with the palette knife.
