This was a a painting that I did at the 2023 Foothills Plein air festival in Elkin, NC. This was my second year participating and my thought process was I wanted to go big, instead of doing multiple paintings and driving to different spots-I just wanted to show what I’m capable of in one piece, something that stands out. So I painted this in 3 days at the literal base of Stone Mountain, NC.
Artist Statement.
i use acrylic paints to fuse together the styles of impressionism and sketching. My brush strokes are bold and loose while my sketching is free flowing and intricate. I use a vibrant palette and a playful interplay of colors to evoke the ever-changing mood of nature. Each brush stroke and each sketch captures a fleeting moment, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the dynamic beauty of the landscapes I paint.
My end goal is to create a visual experience that transports the viewer into the heart of these scenes. Join me on my artistic journey. Together we will find solace in the beauty that surrounds us.
