Newton's Farmhouse

Painting of a white farmhouse surrounded by brilliant autumn trees, in South Kent, CT. This scene is just down the road and around the corner from our house. A scene I pass by daily, and always take note of the changes in the seasons. This particular year the old farmer and his wife had passed away in the same year, Charlotte in the spring and Bill in the fall... I wanted to paint it while their touch: the curtains, outdoor cloths line, mailbox, windmill etc. was still in place. My way of saying goodbye.
