I paint with acrylics on canvas in a loose and expressive style. I was inspired by the roses growing in the garden next to the backdoor of my house. They are at once both humble and complex, commonplace and beautiful. I walk past them every day in the summer, but sometimes - when I take the time to see them - I am mesmerized by the soft colours of the petals alongside the sharp thorns on the stems. Amazing!
